How to get married in Greenville, NC

Congratulations on your recent engagement! Are you looking to get married in Greenville, NC? Whether you are planning a wedding or deciding to get married at the courthouse, there is one thing you will need to make it official, no matter which one you choose and that’s a MARRIAGE LICENSE!

Check out the steps below in getting your marriage license.

Steps to Getting a marriage License in Greenville, NC

The prospective applicants must come into our office together with the following:

Have identification and Social Security Card. A. Driver’s license, DMV identification card or Passport. B. Social Security card, W-2 showing full number or previously filed tax records. If an individual is not eligible to obtain a Social Security number, then an affidavit must be completed.
If divorced, have the date (month and year) of divorce. If divorce is final within the last 30 days, must bring certified copy of divorce decree. If previous spouse is deceased, you will need a certified copy of death certificate if within the past 30 day. Must know date of death (month and year).
If 16 or 17 years old, current picture identification (see 1 A above), a certified birth certificate, and a parent with current picture identification (see 1 A above) to sign the license in our office. If parents are divorced, bring parent that has custody along with a certified copy of the custody papers. Age difference must not be more than 4 years between parties.

The fee is $60.00 (effective September 1, 2009) which is payable in cash only; $30.00 of this fee will be forwarded to the State of North Carolina to be used for family violence programs. Five dollars ($5.00) of the cost is forwarded to the NC Children’s Trust Fund.

There is no waiting period in North Carolina; however, license must be used within 60 days from date of issue as stated on license and returned to the county that issued the license.

Marriage licenses are issued between the hours of 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM Monday through Friday, with the exception of holidays. Please allow at least 20-30 minutes for the license to be completed.

You may go online and complete the marriage application at www.pittcountync.gov. Select About Us, Departments, Register of Deeds, then click on the online application and complete. After completion, submit.

BRIDAL SHOW TIPS FOR ENGAGED COUPLES

We had the pleasure of participating in The 22nd Eastern North Carolina Bridal Expo that was held at the Greenville Convention Center in Greenville, NC on February 23, 2020 and what an amazing time we had. We had such a great time we decided to give couples some helpful tips when they attend any bridal show, bridal expos, or venue open houses.

Bridal Show Tips

Research shows in the area you are interested in getting married
Register in advance if you can
Review the list of vendors that will be participating in show. If you have been considering someone be sure to visit their booth while your there
GROOMS, you should attend as well
Have printed address labels with your information on them (name, address, phone, and email address). This makes it easier to register for any giveaways
Get information from all the vendors that are in attendance (you never know when you may need contact someone after the show)
If you connect with a vendor be sure to reach out to them after the show. It doesn’t cost anything to have a conversation
Don’t get overwhelmed (this applies to large shows that have over 100+ vendors)
HAVE FUN!!!

Real Wedding: Kelsi and Allen | The Big Barn Theatre

GOLDSBORO, NORTH CAROLINA

Kelsi and Allen said their I Do’s at The Big Barn Theatre located in Goldsboro, North Carolina on a bright, sunny, and chilly day. The couple choose a rustic theme for their wedding. They incorporated elements on the big day that showed their personalities. From the shotgun shell boutonniere for Allen to the party gown and cowgirl boots for Kelsi the smile on their faces showed just how much they were ready to become husband and wife. On the day, everyone arrived ready and excited about the wedding. As would any bride on her day, Kelsi was full of nerves when we arrived but once we chatted she was able to leave all the nerves behind and enjoy her wedding. Exquisite Events was happy to serve this couple by helping them plan, setting up the venue, and providing the logistics for their room flip during cocktail hour. Cheers to the happy couple, Kelsi and Allen!

Poppy and Co is a company that specialize in bridesmaids gift, loungewear, and jewelry. Their most popular gift option is the Poppy Package. The poppy package arrives wrapped and of earrings, card, and candle. The pajamas are great to wear while getting ready and the earrings are perfect for wearing to the wedding.

The company got started when the owner, Julia Massey, was planning her wedding and had the hardest time finding unique bridesmaids gifts that would be used after her wedding. How to Select The Perfect Wedding Venue

There are quite a few things to consider when you are searching for the perfect venue for your wedding day. This space is where you will spend your entire day and just like your dress you want to love the space your going to be in. We’ve come up with a few tips to help you on your journey of finding the perfect wedding venue for your special day.

Ensure your venue will accommodate your guest count. When it comes to your reception space you want to make sure that your guest have room and aren’t cramped. Consider the amount of space left for guest tables after you have accounted for the dance floor, dj, and catering food stations.
Make sure it fits the style or theme of your wedding. If you are planning a glitz and glam theme wedding you may want to look into a ballroom. If you are thinking more on the vintage rustic style theme, you may consider more of a rustic venue like a barn or a venue with brick exposure, wood floors, and/or wood beams.
You want to see if the venue has an onsite venue coordinator (this is different from a wedding day coordinator). The venue coordinator is there to handle any issues regarding the venue that may arise on wedding day. For example, if the heating/air unit stops working for the facility on the day of the wedding. They can contact someone for an emergency service call to take care of the issue instead of you stressing out about contacting someone from the venue to address the problem
You also want to make sure that the venue you select is in you budget. When planning your wedding the venue space and food are going to be at least half of your budget.
